Kumbharwada - the Potter's Colony and Photographer's paradise!

Updated: May 16, 2020

Kumbharwada is a colony of Potters, situated in Mumbai who make clay and mud pots, diyas, and various other items and sell them. Most are sold on a wholesale market. The potters mainly hail from the state of Gujarat. This place has amazing vibes and is hustling with the sounds of pottery making and smell of earth!!

You will almost always see Photographers flocking this place, as this colony is a paradise for street photography, documentaries, portraits and even fashion photography. The people here are friendly and normally don't mind you clicking them or their Pottery work. Guess they are used to it!! But, yes few of them do get annoyed and narrate their not so good experiences with few Photographers. Just listen to them, empathise with them and ask their permission if they aren't willing, and respect their decision.
